BHM Bicentenary Dinner & Dance

Tickets are now on sale for the SPECIAL Black History Month Group Bicentenary Dinner & Dance that will be held at the Marriot Hotel, Liverpool. In this special year of the 200th anniversary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade Act, this event will be the main commemorative event organised by the Black History Month Group.

BHM Youth Conference

"The youth conference in the Kuumba Imani center was really empowering and has inspired me as a young person to try and make a difference. I was thinking about maybe organising an event to be included in the black history month events. Possibly getting together youths like myself, poets and young up and coming artists, who would write lyrics and poems to be performed, or express their feelings through dance. Maybe even include some real life experiences and how to overcome the problems by talking about them. It's really just to make people more aware and I'm sure that a lot of people would like to contribute."

BHM Women's conference

The first ever Liverpool Black History Month Group women's conference was held on the 8th March 2007 at the Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre, Liverpool. Over 50 women from Liverpool's diverse cultures celebrated International Women's Day by discussing relevant issues that affect the women of Liverpool and beyond.
