BHM International Women's Day Conference 2007
8th March 2007
10.00am - 1.00pm
Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre

International Women's Day has been observed since in the early 1900's, a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies.

Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate their achievements.

The Liverpool Black History Month Group's conference discussed the issues faced by women in relation to their vital role in the social and economic regeneration of Merseyside region.

The conference examined the role of women in shaping, influencing and changing attitudes in Merseyside, a region that will receive huge world attention in 2008, when Liverpool will be the European Capital of Culture.

Our women are elevating leadership to a new level as they assume leadership in key sectors of our society, making a huge difference, leading with grace, restructuring organizations with caring environments, making conscious decisions for lasting results, handling communication with empathy and in every way assuring that lives and careers blossom.

1. "Liverpool's Economy And Women's Role In It"
